In Search of Being
Announcing a new publication on the Gurdjieff work, available from Shambhala publications.
The website describing the book is at insearchofbeing.org.
Also, note two new additions to the Zen, Yoga, Gurdjieff Blog reading list sidebar:
Divine Governance of the Human Kingdom.
In addition, strongly recommended:
The article by Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse in the latest issue of Shambhala Sun Magazine, "Not for Happiness."
This uncompromising and unflinchingly realistic piece defines Buddhism in somewhat less feel-good, rose-colored-glasses terms than we are accustomed to in what today's glossy Buddhist publications currently invoke.
Gurdjieffians will find several references to qualities they are familiar with from Gurdjieff's work, including the idea of "giving birth to the heart of sadness," an unambiguous referent to Gurdjieff's "sorrow of our Common Father-Creator."
